Light
1. Angle of incidence = Angle of reflection
~ no matter how light rays strike the mirror
2. The incidence ray, reflected ray and the normal at the point of the incidence lie on the same plane.
Regular reflection:
A parallel beam of light is reflected as a parallel beam
An image is formed
Diffused/Irregular Reflection:
A parallel beam of light is reflected and scattered in an irregular manner
Distorted image is formed
Periscope
Periscopes are made of 2 plane mirrors to see over obstacles.
Convex Mirror
Forms upright images that are always smaller than the object
Allows many things to be seen
Concave Mirror
Form upright images that are magnified if the object is close to the mirror
Plane Mirror Images
Distance between the image and the mirror = Distance of the object from the mirror
Same size
Upright
Laterally Inverted
Virtual (cannot be projected on screen)
