Since titanium has very little density, what does that tell us?
Let us recap.
Density = Mass/Volume
So, with lesser density in the spectacles, the volume will be lesser too.
Now about the Archimedes story in the textbook. Gold is a material which has the most density. So when he took a lump of gold and place it in the water with the king's crown, the gold displaced very more water compared to the crown.
This is because the gold has a larger amount of density than the crown. With the crown made of a fake material, the density is much lesser, so it will take up lesser space in the water, displacing lesser water. Therefore, we can say that the king's crown is made of fake gold.
